Fun Rainy Day Activities

It's the month of April and everyone knows it's showers brings May flowers, however, there has been quite the down pour as of lately. This does not mean the fun times stop though! There are many activities based on budget that could be quite the way to spend a day indoors.


Free (or basically free)

Great if you want fun without spending anything

  • Living room obstacle course (use pillows, chairs, blankets)

  • Build a fort + movie day (pick a theme like pirates or space)

  • Family talent show (singing, magic tricks, comedy)

  • Board game or card tournament (add prizes like “winner picks dinner”)

  • Indoor scavenger hunt (hide clues around the house)

  • Bake or cook together using what you already have

  • Story creation game (each person adds one sentence)

  • Dance party with playlists or a “freeze dance” game

Low Budget ($5–$20)

Small spend, big payoff

  • DIY craft kits (dollar store painting, slime, or bracelet kits)

  • Decorate cookies or cupcakes (buy pre-made dough/icing)

  • Puzzle or LEGO challenge (race against the clock)

  • Indoor picnic (simple snacks but set it up fancy)

More structured outings or activities
