With technological advancements being made every day, it begs the question of what the future holds. AI is technology as we've never seen it before, and like many individuals, we understand the concern behind it. For platforms such as ChatGPT many are finding it easy to rely on this for all of their educational needs and questions. While this is a way to get knowledge with ease, it is likely not to benefit anyone, especially not the individual using it. It is unrealistic to tell everyone not to use AI, but using it as an assistant rather than a director is optimal. Instead of asking "write me a 4000 word essay about..." you could be asking, "what would the best direction to go in this essay, version A or Version B"; therefore you are still utilizing original thought but can feel more confident in your decisions. It is important not to neglect your academic creativity as AI may have fancy words or access to a large web; this does not diminish the need for your own voice to be transparent in your work.
